St Catherine's Well - Imber Road


Between Stradbrook and Luccombe Terrace, is a well, that is thought by some in the village to date from the Medieval period on a pilgrim route from Imber to Edington Priory. The wrought iron railing and signage was made by a local resident during the second half of the 20th Century and flowers are laid there on various festival days in honour of St Catherine. Also known as Cat’s Well or the Spill, the well was a convenient place to collect water for residents living nearby before running water was installed in their cottages.
