Roger Broberg
Roger Broberg

Roger Broberg was born in 1942. He was a committed Christian who worshipped for many years at the Bratton Baptist Chapel. Roger owned a garage in Warminster and was able to answer most questions concerning cars, repairs, etc. He was helpful and friendly to all
who required his services. He was the Chairman of the Jubilee Hall committee for several years and supported their activities with much enthusiasm. Roger was very involved with many events in the village especially organising activities for the children.
He started the Bratton ‘Hilly Run’ at first just for the children. This early event took place in Happy Valley. Later it was extended to all-comers and 2017 was the 21st anniversary of the race which starts at the Jubilee Hall and goes up Portway, using the range perimeter roads and tracks to finish back at the Jubilee Hall. On completing the run, competitors are welcomed back by cheering villagers before retiring to the Jubilee Hall for bacon and sausage rolls, receiving medals and their race time.
Roger died on 29th March 2009 and is still sadly missed in the village.
